My name is Jim Lorriman and I am a wood turner by trade with a studio about ten minutes drive from my house. (If you are interested, you can visit my website here.) Prior to my studio I wore a number of hats and one of them was owning and running a restaurant. (In case you are wondering, those are bagels on the platter.)
A love of food, cooking and trying new things in the kitchen permeates our family so when Covid came along and isolation was the order of the day the kitchen became our focal point. Two questions come up quite regularly. One is: "What are we having for dinner tomorrow night?" and the other one is: "What if....?". We have tried new recipes, worked from scratch, taken other formulae and made them better or better suited to our needs and explored the "What if?" question with surprising success. My family has encouraged me to build this website so that others can extrapolate on our foundation or find solutions and work-arounds to problems they are having or possibly just have some fun with us as we continue to explore the possibilities that have made our kitchen an exciting place to be. |
