While you can use measuring spoons for the liquids I have found that putting the maple syrup in a 1/4 cup measure and the oil in a 1/8 cup measure more effective and it is faster and less messy to put these ingredients in the melted chocolate. The silicone spatula can quickly clean out these measuring cups. This allows you to mix the chocolate without it cooling off too much.

A fairly flexible spatula of around the size shown here is very helpful and the table spoon is an asset when things get a little messy. The chocolate and the granola stick to everything. When you take it off the spatula with the spoon it gets stuck to the spoon and vice versa.
If you are almost done and are ready to put the mixture in the fridge then the only recourse is to lick the spoon and the spatula. This accomplishes 2 things: it not only effectively cleans the spoon and the spatula but it gives you a taste of what things will be like tomorrow or in a few hours time! |
I use these silicone pans. They are made by Prepd. They call them dividers. One batch of squares fits perfectly in one of these.
You can see these and other Prepd products on their website here: www.getprepd.com Their products are also available on Amazon. Search for Prepd Cheat Sheets. These are dishwasher safe and easy to clean. I also use the lid (on the right). It saves me having to use plastic wrap or putting this pan in a plastic bag. Note: I don't allow advertising on my site so when I recommend a product it is because I have found it useful. Smart products and new thinking needs to be supported by our using their products. I supported this company when they were first starting out and were raising money on Kickstarter. I also use their cast iron skillets. |
